Rutgers Grad Loses it All

“I am new to this really. Last night was my first night I ever spent in a shelter. I have an MBA from Rutgers. I owned a home in Pt. Pleasant. But I ended up in jail, and I lost it all. When I got out I had nowhere to go. It’s crazy. All I have now is in my backpack. I never thought I would wind up in a shelter. Not in a million years.”

(POTJS Note: As the temps plunged below zero Saturday night, I visited a warming center in Lakewood. More than 50 homeless people were kept warm and safe. This week I am sharing with you all some the people I met.)
